We first learnt about Conlan Schools of Abergele when their Managing Director Francesco Cendron offered a Programming Student Wu Jiang to reside with us for a three week period back in 2008.

Wu gained industrial and language experience with Pamaya Ltd who are one of North Wales’ leading Web and graphical design companies.

CTO Maja Williams said that it was a pleasure to have provided Wu with this opportunity and was impressed with his knowledge so early in his career. Wu showed signs of becoming an accomplished Programmer once his training was completed. Working on both in-house and commercial projects has given Wu the insight of commercial requirements in a fast moving sector.

More recently, Pamaya have provided placements for Vanessa Gorga from Bari in Southern Italy and also Silvio Boldrin from Milan.

Vanessa’s work has been widely varied and has focussed on Pamaya’s Client The Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza; meanwhile Silvio has been flexing his muscles in design concepts and deliverables for some of North Wale’s leading businesses.

Pamaya M.D. Paul Williams said “ Once again, it has been a real pleasure in hosting these young European professionals, it is fantastic to see the standard of work they are able to deliver and in many cases puts our UK students to shame because of their business awareness.

The domain that is listed in the email as “ds4ns1ns2.cn” does not actually belong to the IP address listed, it has been faked. Nearly all spam contains from-addresses that are either made up completely or else stolen from strangers. You can read about this here on the SpamCop Wiki.

Fortunatelly, there is nothing malicious in the email that can harm your computer, just delete the email and it should sort you out. This kind of email was sent to simply bring the internet down, or at least to slow it down as much as possible. If you get this email as a comment on your website, please do not publish or approve this comment as this might identify you as a future target for more spam attacks.

What to do about it: There are some basic things you can do to reduce the amount of spam on the internet… When you get a message that is a petition with ‘millions/thousands have signed it, please help us to free somebody/find somebody etc’, in 99.9% of cases it is a spam. A message written by a somabody who was paid to increase the amount of traffic to a certain website or simply to increase the amount of traffic on the internet would look most possibly like that. A message that ‘you need to forward to 10 of your friends or else…’ Do you really think that a computer will send you a misfortune?!? All those are spam messages that are malicious and threten to bring the Internet down. A simple step that anybody can do is not to respond to those kind of messages and not to forward email to hundreds of their friends.

What if the email is genuine, you ask? If you think that it is genuine, you can always check. Go to google, yahoo, aol, whatever you use to surf the net and search for the event described in your email. Or a message that you “need to forward” to hundreds of your friends. Most of the times, if it is a spam, the search engine will find a blog that will define it as a spam.

If you do have any issues, contact your websmater, ISP provider or do search on the various forums.

John discussed the services that Careers Wales and the ReAct scheme have provided Pamaya over the last six months.
ReAct  is a Welsh Assembly funded incentive which provides employers with funding towards training new staff who have been made redundant.
Pamaya have found that the ReAct scheme was very responsive and that the turnaround for applications was within 3 working days.

Pamaya  also commented on Careers Wales where Pamaya’s positions have been advertised.  Careers Wales have been so busy with the current economic downturn it seems that they are significantly under resourced. John commented that new Welsh Assembly Policies and Funding have been put in place to address these issues so that a more consultative approach can be implemented.  This will be a huge benefit to ALL businesses in Wales as this approach will attempt to replicate a more commercial environment which will compete with recruitment agencies thus alleviating significant charges.

A good meeting was had by both John Griffiths and Pamaya , its is good to know that The Welsh Assembly do take time out to interact with business (and not just from a political point of view).

Pamaya has been invplved with tsdgsgareghe North Wales Charity ‘River and Sea Sense’ based in Llandudno.

River And Sea Sense has been set up in memory of 15 year old Christopher Turnbull who drowned at Capel Curig (Lligwy Falls) on 14th August 2006.

Christopher’s close friends “Chris Turnbull’s Barmy Army” spearheaded his mother Debbie to continue the “Water Safety” message.

Their website tells the story. “The whole ethos” says Debbie is about saving lives in rivers and at sea, and now with creating Events and FUN days for children of all ages around the region Debbie hopes to Educate children and adults where necessary of the dangers of water.
