We first learnt about Conlan Schools of Abergele when their Managing Director Francesco Cendron offered a Programming Student Wu Jiang to reside with us for a three week period back in 2008.

Wu gained industrial and language experience with Pamaya Ltd who are one of North Wales’ leading Web and graphical design companies.

CTO Maja Williams said that it was a pleasure to have provided Wu with this opportunity and was impressed with his knowledge so early in his career. Wu showed signs of becoming an accomplished Programmer once his training was completed. Working on both in-house and commercial projects has given Wu the insight of commercial requirements in a fast moving sector.

More recently, Pamaya have provided placements for Vanessa Gorga from Bari in Southern Italy and also Silvio Boldrin from Milan.

Vanessa’s work has been widely varied and has focussed on Pamaya’s Client The Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza; meanwhile Silvio has been flexing his muscles in design concepts and deliverables for some of North Wale’s leading businesses.

John discussed the services that Careers Wales and the ReAct scheme have provided Pamaya over the last six months.
ReAct  is a Welsh Assembly funded incentive which provides employers with funding towards training new staff who have been made redundant.
Pamaya have found that the ReAct scheme was very responsive and that the turnaround for applications was within 3 working days.

Pamaya  also commented on Careers Wales where Pamaya’s positions have been advertised.  Careers Wales have been so busy with the current economic downturn it seems that they are significantly under resourced. John commented that new Welsh Assembly Policies and Funding have been put in place to address these issues so that a more consultative approach can be implemented.  This will be a huge benefit to ALL businesses in Wales as this approach will attempt to replicate a more commercial environment which will compete with recruitment agencies thus alleviating significant charges.

A good meeting was had by both John Griffiths and Pamaya , its is good to know that The Welsh Assembly do take time out to interact with business (and not just from a political point of view).
